Exploring The Difference

Our hope, is that this page becomes a mini resource for others to learn about different cultures. Depending on your approach, learning about different cultures can be fun, not only for you but your entire family.   It would be nice if everyone could afford to take a trip to another country like Africa or France.
Unfortunately, most families can't afford to take a vacation to another country.  Most, are trying to make ends meet, by trying to stretch there money to pay their bills.  Plus, most families are trying to save the resources they do have for an emergency.  It's more economical to, take an visually or local vacation to another country.  It can be achieved by participating at Cultural events, within the city or state you reside in or if your family budget permits it, you can explore different Multicultural events in different cities and states, within the United States.  Another avenue, could be achieved by renting a movie from the local library.  We can also, go to a restaurant of another culture.  Most students from kindergarden to 12th grade learn about different cultures in school . We can extend the learning experience by hosting a gathering, with different food, clothing and music from the culture of interest.  We can share our interest of learning about another culture, with a friend that's from another country.  We can go to the zoo and see which animals comes from different countries.  We can go to a local museum that have information on that particular culture.  Plus, we can do research on the internet.  Just a reminder, we have some links below, that you might find helpful in exploring about different cultures.
Enjoy and embrace the difference about each other.
Continue to travel at God speed.

Respecting the Difference:

Our hope in sharing this information is to encourage universal understanding and universal respect for others choice of faith.  Mostly every faith has their good apples and their bad apples.  We can't discriminate against someone because of there religious belief, that is Unconstitutional  and Inhumane.   We do not have to  look the same, walk the same, talk the same, think the same, pray the same, and believe the same, in order for us to respect each other.  When any group of people lash out on others because of their chosen, faith, that's promoting hatred and bigotry.  For any religious group to promote violence or prejudice of any nature is wrong  and hateful.  We can discriminate against any group of Extremist.  Extremist do not respect anyone, but the members of their group.  They encourage negativity to the highest regard and therefore should not be encourage or respected for their violent acts against others.  On a positive note, when we are trying to share positiveness, then it doesn't matter if we walk down a different path to reach the same spiritual quest.

The big question is how can we be friends to someone of a different faith?

We can start by agreeing that we will leave our minds open to learn about each others faith.  We can learn through our friend or doing our own research.  Once we learn about each other  faith, we can then share the pro's and cons of each other faith.  Even though there will be disagreements do not allow the disagreements to interfere with the friendship.  Agree to disagree, but try to maintain that friendship.  Sometimes the best friend a person can have is one that do not agree with everything.  Remember, a true friend wants the best for their friends, even if it's not worshiping in the same faith or sharing the same beliefs.

Have you ever experience, going to the mall and a pushy sales person ask you ever 2 minutes to buy this and that? tIn most cases, that will turn the average person away from buying the item and leaving that particular store.  It's better when a friend or family member ask you about your faith because it means they are really interested.  When we become pushy, then were placing conditions on the relationships with our family and friends, either consciously or unconsciously.  Plus, it's  also bad when someone is sharing the goodness about their faith and during the process putting your beliefs and faith down. That could cause the family member or friend to feel you're pointing the finger at them in a negative way and it could cause them to become defensive, and if  not careful, it can cause the relationship to diminish. We can't assume that because our faith is best for us, that's it best for all.

The Serenity Prayer has been a useful tool for us.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.

We share our belief within our faith and we share others belief within their faith.

We believe, there's only one God Almighty that created everything in this universe.  "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8".  Some religion do not believe there is only one God.  Some believe there are many.  Even though we disagree because of our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and chosen faith.

We believe that Jesus is the son of God Almighty and some people believe he wasn't the son of God Almighty.  Even though we disagree because of our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and chosen faith.

We believe in Baptism.
Matthew 28:16-20 (KJV)
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.   17) And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.   18) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:   20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Some people do not believe in Baptism. Even though we disagree because of our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and chosen faith.

We believe in God Almighty and some people's faith do not believe in God Almighty.  Even though we do not agree with them because of our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and faith.  Sometimes when we be an example to others, it encourages them to seek God Almighty even when they didn't believe in God Almighty.

We also believe that God Almighty is the Healer of All.  Plus, we believe God Almighty works through doctors to heal.  Now, some peoples faith disagrees, Even though we disagree because of our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and chosen faith.

We also believe it's good to thank someone for praying for you, however, we also feel all praise and glory should be given to God Almighty for working through that person to answer your prayer.   Some people feel, all glory should be given to the one praying for them.  Even though we disagree because of  our belief and faith, we respect their chosen belief and their chosen faith.

Even though we have had the pleasure of learning about different faiths, we know that the Christian faith is right for our beliefs.  Some of our relatives are of a different faith, and we know their faith is right for them because it brings out the best in what they do to help themselves and others on a daily basis.  God Almighty is good and his love is universal.
